Vessel Tracking

Take a straight look at curved anatomy using the Vessel Tracking interactive curved-plane imaging technique. This technique allows you to delineate the curve of interest directly on MIP, where the vessel is entirely visible on one image. The result is a panoramic view, depicting both the vessel and the surrounding tissue, and rendering the diagnostic process easier than ever. Exact assessments and measurements of stenoses, calcifications and blockages can be gained from true cross-sectional views taken at different levels along the vessel and in planes perpendicular to the path of the vessel.

The power of the Vessel Tracking application is demonstrated in the case of a 54-year-old male after a left lung transplant. A high-resolution Minimum-Intensity-Projection (top left) reveals a post-operative stenosis. A panoramic section through the left mainstem bronchus and the proximal lobar bronchi (top right) gives an enhanced view of the situation. True cross-sections through the bronchus just above the stenosis (bottom left) and at its level (bottom right) enable exact measurements. These measurements were used to manufacture a custom stent for placement into the bronchial tree.
