ALGOTEC - THE E-IMAGE COMPANY Communication 68 Greenleaf Drive Stamford, CT 06902 RSNA Booth 4312, South Hall Since its inception, Algotec has been an internationally recognized leader in the field of digital medical image management, processing and distribution. In 1996, it was one of the innovators of efficient, affordable Internet-based image access. Today, it still has the largest number of Internet-based installations worldwide and continues to set new industry standards. Its ImagiNet family of products also provides enterprise-wide access to imaging studies thorough intranets and local area networks to meet a full spectrum of customer needs. From advanced primary reading stations and multi-tiered clinical data storage to state-of-the-art routing and workflow management tools - Algotec’s product line comprises a unified, integrated medical imaging information system. All components are DICOM-compliant and also can be integrated with existing equipment from other manufacturers. The Algotec family of products seamlessly interfaces with all modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and others, as well as with all standard healthcare information systems, including HIS/RIS and CIS. “With Algotec’s open architecture, digital radiology moves to a level beyond PACS - picture archiving and communications systems. Diagnostic imaging records are no longer confined to the radiology department. They may be accessed throughout a facility and integrated with information from other departments,” says Kobi Margolin, Algotec vice president of marketing. “Multiple systems and time-consuming data re-entry are virtually eliminated. Information flows enterprise-wide.” Sophisticated features offered within the Algotec line include automated routing of imaging files to referring physicians using varied methods such as e-mail, JAVA applets and Algotec’s new “CD-Surf” technology. They also include routing of all previous patient studies to relevant workstations, built-in online conferencing, automated worklists and much more. Primary reading stations may be equipped with advanced diagnostic software packages including volume rendering and virtual endoscopy tools. With Algotec’s innovative web-based access engine, any authorized user anywhere can access clinical data and images from an online computer using a standard web browser. The web engine provides remote computers with JAVA applets enabling them to display and process information with full diagnostic quality. No client software is required. “This system allows existing personal computers, intranets and the Internet to replace viewing stations, dramatically reducing equipment and maintenance costs. The result is economically feasible connections of an entire hospital, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN) and the entire healthcare community, ” comments Margolin. Currently, the Algotec products are installed in over 650 hospitals worldwide.
